Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy O'Sullivan – the need to allocate additional funding to local authorities to meet the demand for grants to adapt homes for the needs of people with disabilities; (2) Deputy Ring – the provision of the ferry service to Clare Island in County Mayo; (3) Deputy Michael Higgins – the need to devise a development strategy for the Great Southern Hotel Group; (4) Deputy Lawlor – the restoration of the Asgard to full sail condition without alteration and the merits of this heritage preservation option as against alternative proposals; (5) Deputy Deenihan – the need to allow for the export of live cattle from Fenit port in County Kerry; (6) Deputy Shortall – the need to address the serious discrepancy in the new drugs refund scheme where full-time students aged between 23 and 25 years old are subject to the individual limit of £42 per month regardless of their income; (7) Deputy Farrelly – the need to provide sufficient remedial teachers in primary schools in County Meath; (8) Deputy O'Shea – the need to provide permanent funding for the Waterford Centre for Independent Living; (9) Deputy Connaughton – the proposals of the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development to help sheep farmers overcome the collapse in sheep prices this week; (10) Deputy Neville – the death by suicide in Mountjoy Prison on 16 October 1999. The matters raised by Deputies Connaughton, O'Sullivan, Ring and Deenihan have been selected for discussion.
