264 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when contracts will be signed and the work commenced on the Blackwater sewerage treatment works extension at Blackwater, County Wexford. [20404/99]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey): I understand that Wexford County Council are currently examining tenders for the construction of the scheme which has been approved for funding under the serviced land initiative.

265 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when tenders will be approved and the works commenced on the main drainage contract 1B for Whiterock, Clonard, Whitemill, Wexford; if his attention has been drawn to the situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20405/99]

A tender recommendation for contract 1B which is an element of the Wexford main drainage scheme has been submitted to my Department by Wexford Corporation, and is under consideration. As the land to be serviced by contract 1B is located in the county area, confirmation of Wexford County Council's agreement to the proposed funding arrangements is awaited.

266 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when contracts will be signed and the work commenced on the proposed Gorey regional water supply scheme, County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20406/99]

A tender recommendation for phase 1 of this scheme has been submitted to my Department and will be considered on receipt of the necessary manager's order which has been requested from Wexford County Council. The scheme forms part of the Wexford water conservation project which is under construction.

267 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when contracts will be signed and the work commenced on the proposed Courtown and River-chapel main drainage schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20407/99]

Wexford County Council advertised for tenders for the construction of the scheme in July of this year, and the submission of a tender recommendation is awaited by my Department. The scheme is included in the 1999 water services investment programme to commence construction.

268 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason for the delay in approving the proposed main drainage scheme for Rosslare Harbour, County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20408/99]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey): A revised preliminary report for this scheme is awaited. The scheme is included in the 1999 water services investment programme to advance through planning.

269 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when work will commence on the proposed Bunclody sewerage scheme, County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20411/99]

Wexford County Council have appointed consultants to prepare a preliminary report for the Bunclody sewerage scheme. The scheme has been approved for funding under the rural towns and villages initiative. I am not in a position to say when work will commence.
