279 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the budget allocated to Donegal County Council towards essential repair making grants for each of the years from 1997 to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20760/99]
The provision of funds for the payment of essential repair grants is primarily a matter for Donegal County Council. My Department's involvement is confined to the recoupment of a proportion of the expenditure incurred by the local authority in the payment of individual grants.
My Department's expenditure on recoupments to Donegal County Council and the number of grant payments to which these recoupments relate are set out in the following table:
