Question:113 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the plans, if any, he has to bring the fisheries amendment Bill before Dáil Éireann; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20280/99]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 112 and 113 together.
At present the Fisheries (Amendment) Bill, 1999 is at an advanced stage of preparation in the Office of the Parliamentary Draftsman. I intend to present the final text of the Bill to the Government very shortly seeking its authority to present the Bill to Dáil Éireann.
