Vol. 510 No. 1

Written Answers. - Electricity Generation.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

83 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the number of meetings she had with a consortium (details supplied); if the proposed Huntstown power plant was discussed; and the conclusion reached at these meetings. [18490/99]

The consortium referred to in this question is one of a number of parties interested in entering the Irish electricity market with whom I have met during the past year or so. I have had three meetings with the consortium concerned. The purpose of these meetings, which were arranged at their request, was to inform me of progress in relation to their proposed power plant at Huntstown and to let me have their views on some of the policy and regulatory issues which arise.
