Question:

17 Mr. Gilmore asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the position regarding the claim against the State by a company (details supplied) arising from a decision to cancel certain export credit insurance; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [21992/99]

In 1989 proceedings against the State were initiated by Anglo Irish Beef Processors International Limited in response to a decision by the Minister to void certain export credit cover. The plaintiffs lodged an amended statement of claim in 1995.

Pleadings in the case have not yet been finalised.
