189 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason his Department has rejected an application under the scheme for early retirement from farming to a person (details supplied) in County Galway in spite of the fact that he has proper legalised transfer of lands and taking into account the fragmented nature of this holding; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The person named applied for an early retirement pension on 15 June 1999. A formal decision on the application has not yet been made. The applicant will be informed of the outcome at the earliest opportunity.
