Written Answers. - Road Traffic Fines.
I am informed by the Garda Commissioner that statistics in relation to the number of fines issued under the Road Traffic (Traffic and Parking) Regulations 1997, during 1999, for what is commonly referred to as "jaywalking", are not readily available.
The details sought by the Deputy could be compiled only by the diversion to the task of a disproportionate amount of Garda time and resources.
