Vol. 511 No. 1

Written Answers. - Personal Assistance Service.

Pat Carey

Question:

105 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will provide funding for the Irish Wheelchair Association to enable it to continue to provide two personal assistants to a person (details supplied) and to employ a third assistant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23760/99]

The provision of personal assistance services in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, Eastern Health Board, with a request that he examine the query and reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.
