Richard Bruton

Question:

122 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans, if any, he has to amend the Fire Services Act, 1981, in order that local authorities can prosecute indictable offences instead of relying on the Office of the DPP in view of the recent experiences of Dublin Corporation. [23902/99]

The issue of appropriate mechanisms for the prosecution of offences under the Fire Services Act, 1981, is under active consideration in my Department.
