70 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Defence if he will make a statement on the agreement reached with general practitioners for providing medical cover to Army personnel; and if he will give details of the agreement. [23903/99]
Negotiations on a claim submitted by the Irish Medical Organisation on behalf of general practitioners for revised fees for the provision of medical cover to military personnel have been in progress for some time between my Department and the organisation. Proposals which emerged from those negotiations are being considered by the IMO and I expect the matter to be concluded in the near future.
