133 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the capital or other funding earmarked in the National Development Plan 2000-2006 for the development of rail or bus services in counties Cavan and Monaghan; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [25677/99]
The national development plan provides for substantial investment in regional public transport. The principal elements of relevance to counties Cavan and Monaghan will be the Bus Éireann fleet renewal programme, involving a total national expenditure of £75 million, regional bus investment, £12 million, and the pilot rural transport projects, £3.5 million. The detailed investment programme, particularly for 2000, is currently being finalised in consultation with CIE.
