Vol. 512 No. 3

Written Answers - Schools Amalgamation.

John Perry

Question:

300 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 577 of 20 April 1999, the progress, if any, made to secure a site for the amalgamation of Banada secondary school and Marist Convent in Tubbercurry, County Sligo; the negotiations, if any, which have taken place; when the work will commence; the timescale involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25901/99]

There have been extensive efforts within my Department to procure a suitable site for the proposed new second level school for Tubbercurry. The possibility of locating the school on a specific site is currently being explored with the relevant parties. Pending the acquisition of a site, it is not possible to provide a timescale for the delivery of the project.
