Vol. 512 No. 3

Written Answers - Regional Airports.

Ulick Burke

Question:

100 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she intends providing a marketing support grant to the management of Galway Airport for 2000 and following years to enable it market new services being put in place at the airport as the Western Regional Airport. [26135/99]

As the Deputy may be aware, a significant sum of £700,000 was originally provided in the Estimates for my Department next year to assist the regional airports, including Galway, with their marketing and promotional schemes. This was increased, at my request, in last week's budget by a further £500,000, bringing the total figure to £1.2 million.

I will communicate with each of the regional airports shortly, including Galway Airport, as to their respective allocations from the marketing fund.
