Vol. 512 No. 6

Written Answers. - Child Abductions.

Jan O'Sullivan

Question:

359 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his views on the draft rules on the Child Abduction and Enforcement of Custody Orders Act, 1991, submitted to him by the rules committee of the Supreme Court; when he will make a decision with regard to these rules; when they will be put in place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26944/99]

These draft rules have been submitted by the Superior Courts Rules Committee for my concurrence and signature. However on examination of the draft rules in my Department, it was considered prudent to seek clarification on a small number of minor technical matters and accordingly the draft rules have been returned to the rules committee for consideration of the points raised. I am at present awaiting a reply from the rules committee.
