Vol. 512 No. 6

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

John McGuinness

Question:

364 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the progress, if any, in relation to an application by a person (details supplied) in Dublin I who wishes to return home for Christmas; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the original application was made in mid-1999; and if the application will be expedited. [27009/99]

Records in my Department indicate that the person referred to was recently granted permission to remain in the State as the parent of an Irish born child, an Irish citizen. If the person in question intends to travel outside the State they may apply for a re-entry visa to the Department of Foreign Affairs in the normal way.
