Question:

167 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of children requiring orthodontic treatment; the number treated in the past 12 months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27293/99]

The provision of orthodontic treatment for eligible persons is the statutory responsibility of the health boards and information regarding numbers placed on waiting lists for treatment following assessment in accordance with my Department's guidelines and the numbers of treatments completed is maintained by the boards.
