Question:

380 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will approve funding for plans submitted to his Department by the Western Health Board for the development of the Strokestown health centre in County Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1140/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 378, 379 and 380 together.

The development of these health centres is a matter in the first instance for the Western Health Board. Proposals from all of the health boards regarding health centre developments in 2000 are currently being considered in the context of funding available for such projects under the national development plan and having regard to the funding required for ongoing commitments; in the case of the Western Health Board these include projects in Ballinasloe and Turloughmore and the priority afforded to new projects by the boards.
