200 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will arrange for the transfer of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath from a hospital in the midlands to a hospital in the greater Dublin region in order that her family may be near her; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Westmeath is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
