Vol. 513 No. 3

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

275 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the Land Registry Office will expedite a section 49 application for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [2230/00]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application refers to a section 49 application, namely, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 21 December 1999.

I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, can take some time to process. Accordingly, although it is not possible to estimate a precise completion date for the application concerned at this stage, I can say that the application is being processed at present and will be completed without delay.
