Ryan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the proposals, if any, she has to provide additional staff in the archaeological section of Dúchas arising from the anticipated increase in submissions from local authorities and Government Departments in relation to the Local Government (Planning and Development) Bill, 1999, and the national development plan; and if she will make a statement on the matter. 266 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if her attention has been drawn to the concern expressed by the Irish Association of Professional Architects at the low staffing levels within the State services dealing with archaeological locations and related planning matters; if so, the steps, if any, she will take to rectify the matter; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
