141 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason for the delay in approving and paying a farm retirement pension to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo who made an application in September 1998. [2206/00]
The person named applied for an early retirement pension on 14 September 1998. However a number of essential supporting documents were lacking and for that reason the application was returned to the applicant on 2 November 1998.
There was further correspondence during 1999 and my Department wrote to the applicant four times asking for documents that were still outstanding. The applicant has not yet provided these. Until he does so, the processing of his application cannot be finalised.
