Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Durkan – the reduction in the rate of old age pension payable to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; (2) Deputy Hayes – the need for the urgent transfer from Beaumont Hospital to Tallaght Hospital of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin; (3) Deputy Seán Ryan – the need for an independent authority to maintain and enforce safety standards in all aspects of air transport, with particular reference to the further deregulation of ground handling at airports; (4) Deputy Upton – the urgent need for the Minister for Education and Science to create extra third level places to allow apprentices to complete their training within a reasonable timeframe; (5) Deputy Fitzgerald – the current status and publication date of the White Paper on Defence; (6) Deputy Perry – the need for a planned property programme to be put in place for the six Border counties and in particular the Sligo-Leitrim area; (7) Deputy Coveney – the need for the provision of an addiction treatment half way house facility for a person in the Cork city area; (8) Deputy Gregory – the recent serious developments in the drugs problem in Dublin causing concern to local communities; (9) Deputy Deasy – the need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to address the need to save the jobs under threat in the Ray Ban division of the Luxottica plant in Waterford; (10) Deputy Broughan – the need to ensure that major funding is provided for local sports and youth clubs, including in Dublin's deprived areas.

The matters raised by Deputies Seán Ryan, Fitzgerald, Hayes and Coveney have been selected for discussion.
