Vol. 513 No. 5

Written Answers. - Road Accidents.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

69 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of accidents on the N69 roadway in each of the past five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2944/00]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the information sought by the Deputy is not readily available and that it would require a considerable amount of Garda time to compile such information. However, detailed statistics in relation to the number of accidents on national routes are provided by the National Roads Authority, St. Martin's House, Waterloo Road.

I understand significant details and analysis of road accident data are available from the National Roads Authority who have recently published its 1998 report on road accidents entitled Road Accident Facts.
