Vol. 513 No. 6

Written Answers. - Garda Deployment.

Michael Noonan

Question:

388 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a replacement garda will be appointed to the Garda station at Doon, County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3207/00]

I am informed by the Garda authorities who are responsible for the detailed allocation of Garda personnel to individual areas that the vacancy at Doon Garda station arose from a retirement there on 12 December 1999. This vacancy has since been advertised within the Tipperary division and a suitable replacement has been nominated to fill the vacancy at Doon. I understand that the vacancy will be filled as extra resources become available to replace the garda nominated.
