Vol. 514 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Properties.

Austin Currie

Question:

158 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the effect, if any, the new national stadium will have on the operations of his Department at Abbotstown, County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3599/00]

The Government decision of 8 February 2000 to develop Sports Campus Ireland and Stadium Ireland on State lands at Abbotstown will necessitate the relocation of the Department's facilities which are at present located there.

My Department is at present planning for the relocation of these facilities to Backweston, County Kildare, in consultation with the interests involved.

It is my intention to ensure that the relocation of staff and facilities will not impinge on the quality and continuity of the essential services at present provided in Abbotstown.
