Vol. 514 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Ellis

Question:

159 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if 1999 sheep headage will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [3688/00]

The person named did not complete an application in respect of the 1999 sheep headage scheme. The composition of his flock as per his application under the 1999 ewe premium would indicate that he may have had sheep eligible under the 1999 sheep headage scheme. The local headage office queried him in writing in this regard on 29 April 1999 but to date there is no record of any response having been received.

Billy Timmins

Question:

160 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if an application for compensation for livestock which failed a TB test has been received from a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow; the plans, if any, he has to vary the standard rate compensation in view of the fact that the value of the lost livestock may greatly exceed the compensation given; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3690/00]

My Department is not in a position to determine grant entitlements in this case until such time as the herdowner furnishes essential documentation required to enable his herd's notional milk yield to be calculated. In addition to the appropriate reactor grant payable, a supplementary payment for certain pedigree animals may also be payable on verification of the pedigree certification.

Before any payment can be made the usual up-to-date tax clearance certificate will also be required from the herdowner.
