Vol. 514 No. 2

Written Answers. - Service Laboratories Relocation.

Richard Bruton

Question:

73 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he has precise locations for each of the service laboratories at Abbotstown which will be dislodged by the national stadium proposal; and if he will give staff assurances that these will continue to be located in Dublin and services and conditions of employment of existing staff will not be adversely affected. [3795/00]

Consequent on the Government decision of 8 February 2000 to develop Sports Campus Ireland and Stadium Ireland at Abbotstown, my Department is planning for the relocation of its facilities which are at present located there, to Backweston, – between Lucan and Celbridge, County Kildare.

Consultations are taking place with the various interests involved, to ensure the Government decision will be implemented with minimal disruption to staff and to the operations of my Department.
