237 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of civil servants appointed by him and his Ministers of State to look after constituency matters; the costs involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5107/00]

A total of ten civil servants are working in my constituency office and in the constituency offices of the two Ministers of State at my Department. The cost of salaries for these ten civil servants in 1999 was £152,174.
