Vol. 514 No. 6

Written Answers. - National Monuments.

John Perry

Question:

262 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she has made a decision on the archaeological design report carried out on Kingstown Holy Well, Toomour, Keash, Ballymote, County Sligo; if a favourable decision will be made in view of the fact that funds have been allocated and are awaiting the necessary approval and clearance; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5098/00]

The report in question is currently with the national monuments service of my Department. The works proposed in the report will involve extensive ground disturbance. The Kingstown Holy Well site is a recorded monument in the record of monuments and places and additional information will be required before a decision can be made in respect of this case. A meeting will be held with the local development association as soon as is possible to progress the matter.
