As part of an ongoing review of the Department's properties, I have decided to sell a number of properties adjoining military barracks as a contribution to alleviating the shortage of land for housing.
In this regard, negotiations are ongoing with Waterford Corporation regarding the sale of an area of 1.5 acres to that authority.
I have no further plans to alter the status of Waterford Barracks.
