Written Answers. - School Places.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

90 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Education and Science the action, if any, he will take to address the serious shortage of school places emerging at primary and secondary levels in Dublin 15; if his Department will indicate to the local authority its interest in school sites; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7126/00]

My Department is actively investigating the extent of additional demand for school places at first and second level in the Dublin 15 area. The investigation is at an advanced stage.

Any anticipated requirement for additional school sites will be brought to the attention of Fingal County Council without delay.
