Question:

72 Mrs. Owen asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will give an assurance that she will retain the Restrictive Practices (Groceries) Order, 1987, in view of the unanimous all party agreement of the Joint Committee on Enterprise and Small Business that it should remain; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 67, 68 and 72 together.

I have recently received the report and recommendations of the competition and mergers review group. The review group as well as reporting and making recommendations on the Groceries Order also reported on merger and competition law and administration.

I will now consider the report and recommendations of the review group on all the matters referred to it before deciding what further action to take and will publish it as soon as possible.
