Billy Timmins

Question:

249 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will bring forward a Bill, similar to the Bourne Vincent Memorial Park Act, 1932, to cater for the needs of the proposed Wicklow national park; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9750/00]

As soon as the Wildlife (Amendment) Bill, 1999, which has commenced consideration by Dáil Éireann, has been enacted, my Department will consider further the issue of an appropriate legislative framework for certain State properties held by my Department, including national parks, taking account of issues considered in preparing the forthcoming national heritage plan.
