Written Answers. - Consultancy Contracts.

Phil Hogan

Question:

320 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs the monetary value of any consultancies to a company (details supplied) for the period July 1997 to date; the exact assignment in respect of each fee paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10774/00]

In May 1997 tenders were sought for consultancy assistance in the preparation of the Pensions Board report on the national pensions policy initiative. The objective of this initiative was to facilitate a national debate on developing a pensions system which would enable all residents in the State to maintain their established standard of living on retirement.

Following a competitive tender process the contract for this consultancy was awarded to the company concerned. Payments from this Department totalling £117,687, including VAT, were made between July 1997 and the completion of the consultancy in 1998.
