Vol. 518 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John Perry

Question:

195 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will intervene on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo and have him immediately called for his by-pass operation in St. James's Hospital in view of the deterioration in his condition and taking into consideration the fact that he is presently in hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12060/00]

The responsibility for the provision of services at St. James's Hospital is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority in the first instance. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him as a matter of urgency.
