278 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation in respect of the provision of the facilities required at Scoil Iognáid Rís, Naas, County Kildare; if he will give details of the precise nature of the facilities anticipated or proposed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12027/00]

As indicated in replies to parliamentary questions on 15 February 2000 and 9 March 2000, the managerial authorities of Scoil Iognáid Ris were authorised to appoint a design team to commence the architectural planning of a proposed extension at this school. It is proposed to provide a range of specialist accommodation, general classrooms, administration facilities and a general purpose-dining area.

It is not possible at this juncture to be specific as to the length of time involved.

279 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will report on the position in respect of the facilities promised and required at St. Mary's college, Naas, County Kildare; the progress achieved in respect of this matter in each of the past 12 months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As indicated in replies to parliamentary questions on 8 February 2000 and 9 March 2000, approval to proceed to construction was given to the managerial authorities of this school in January 2000. Construction has commenced.

280 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in respect of the provision of extra facilities at Maynooth post-primary school, County Kildare; the full extent and nature of the facilities proposed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12029/00]

As indicated in replies to parliamentary questions on 15 February 2000, 9 March 2000 and 5 April 2000, the County Kildare VEC has requested my Department to review the number of students for whom accommodation should be provided at Maynooth post primary school.

Until this review is completed, decisions regarding the amount of accommodation to be provided at the school, if any, cannot be taken.

281 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in respect of the provision of extra facilities at Confey college, Leixlip, County Kildare; the full extent of these facilities proposed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12030/00]

As indicated in replies to parliamentary questions on 8 February 2000 and 9 March 2000, the County Kildare VEC has been advised that it may proceed to tender for the provision of an extension to Confey College. The accommodation to be provided includes general classrooms, specialist accommodation, library, and ancillary accommodation.

282 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the precise number and nature of developments which have taken place in respect of the provision of the extra facilities promised at Scoil Dara, Kilcock, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12031/00]

Approval was recently given to the managerial authorities of Scoil Dara to proceed to prepare a combined stage four, detailed design, and stage five, bill of quantities, submission.

It is proposed that the conversion to natural gas and the installation of two new boilers to service the existing school and proposed extension be undertaken this summer.
