Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - Medical Expenses.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

338 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Health and Children the allowance, if any, available to persons who do not have a medical card towards the purchase of appliances; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13000/00]

Health boards may furnish aids and appliances or give financial assistance towards their purchase to those with medical cards or, in cases of hardship, to people who do not hold medical cards. The assessment of hardship depends on the circumstances of an individual case as assessed by the board.
