Vol. 519 No. 2

Written Answers. - Educational Provision.

Dan Neville

Question:

322 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Education and Science the provision his Department is making to ensure that a person (details supplied) in County Limerick is receiving education. [13440/00]

My Department is aware of this case. I understand that the young person referred to by the Deputy has not been attending school. My Department through its inspectorate and the National Educational Psychological Service is endeavouring, through a process of consultation with the school, to assist the young person to return to the school in which he is enrolled. It is hoped that a plan for the return to school will be finalised shortly. In the meantime, to ensure that appropriate educational provision continues to be made for person concerned, an offer of home tuition has been made as an interim measure.
