Vol. 519 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

342 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education and Science if assistance could be provided to a local Montessori school (details supplied) in Dublin 22 which is finding it extremely difficult to secure new premises for September 2000 in a situation where the local authority is unable to assist; and if buildings or sites currently held by the Department in the general area could provide accommodation for the school even on a temporary basis. [13633/00]

Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods): The school referred to by the Deputy is not officially recognised by my Department. Consequently, it is not possible to provide funding towards securing new premises. My Department does not own property or sites in the general area that could be used by the school.
