Vol. 519 No. 2

Written Answers. - Railway Stations.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

101 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise when full accessibility for people with disability, older people and parents with children will be provided at Bayside DART station, Sutton, Dublin 13. [13471/00]

I understand that Bayside DART station has an island platform which serves both the up and down DART lines. The only entry to the platform is via an underpass which, because of the steps involved, makes it very difficult for people with mobility problems to negotiate.

However, I am informed that Iarnród Éireann will shortly commission a study to examine the possibilities of redesigning the station to make it more accessible for people with disabilities or who are otherwise mobility impaired.
