Vol. 519 No. 2

Written Answers. - Community Support Services.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

148 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received the priority list from the North Eastern Health Board for their community capital needs; if he will make an allocation for the health centre at Cootehill, County Cavan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13275/00]

The source of funding for health service capital developments, including health centres, is the funding available under the national development plan, NDP. Each health board was notified of indicative figures with regard to the distribution of NDP funding being made available under the plan and requested to produce a draft development plan specifying its prioritised lists of projects-initiatives within the various care programmes.

The draft development plan has been received from the North Eastern Health Board which is the board responsible for the provision of health centres in County Cavan. The board's draft development plan is currently being examined in my Department in consultation with the board. The board will be notified of the outcome of this examination in the near future.
