Michael Ring

Question:

151 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, placed on a waiting list for physiotherapy last October, only discovered on telephoning Mayo General Hospital in April 2000 that the GP referral scheme was withdrawn; and the proposals, if any, to ensure this person gets adequate physiotherapy. The provision of services in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

152 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have investigations made into the circumstances surrounding the discharge of a person (details supplied) in County Waterford from Waterford Regional Hospital at 11.50 p.m. on 7 May 2000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of services in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

Jack Wall

Question:

153 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will be given a date for a hip replacement operation in view of the fact the per son is suffering form severe pain at present; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13280/00]

The responsibility or the provision of services at St. James's Hospital now rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. I have, therefore, asked the regional chief executive to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

154 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 who is in severe physical discomfort as a result of awaiting knee surgery will be admitted for surgery; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13281/00]

The responsibility for the provision of acute hospital services in the Dublin area now rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. I have, therefore, asked the regional chief executive to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
