129 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Education and Science the guidelines in place for regulating the type of material placed on his departmental websites; the further guidelines to regulate the links included on the website; and if the guidelines in this regard include party political or commercial material. My Department's website contains information on all aspects of education. All new publications, policy documents and announcements are published on the site. At present there are no links to other internet sites. Work is in progress to improve the site by including relevant education links and providing a database of information of interest to students, parents, teachers, and management bodies in educational institutions. The content on the website is monitored by the communications unit in my Department in consultation with all sections of the Department. A steering group chaired by an assistant secretary advises the communications unit on the future development of the site.
