Vol. 519 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

75 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if all grant aid and or incentives are up to date in terms of payment to producers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13994/00]

Generally schemes operated by my Department are up to date and there has been a significant improvement in the delivery of schemes in recent years. There are some backlogs in the processing of applications under the rural environment protection scheme but it must be emphasised that when delays take place they do not result in financial loss to participants in this scheme.

My Department has placed a strong emphasis on customer service and has operated to targets which are set out in the charter of farmers' rights.
