Vol. 519 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

304 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the current position in relation to an application for approval for a sports grant by a club (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14073/00]

A grant of £75,000 was allocated to the club referred to by the Deputy under the 1999 sports capital programme. In line with standard procedures, specific documentation and information was sought to confirm that the proposed development complies with the terms and conditions of the programme. Grants in excess of £39,000 require a deed of trust and the legal requirements in relation to this have only just been finalised.

My Department is now in a position to formally confirm the grant and will write to the club in question advising them to submit any remaining documentation necessary to draw down the payment of the grant.
