Question:

305 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when an application for a grant under the sports capital programme will be assessed; and when the development will be inspected by his officials. [14074/00]

The sports capital programme for 2000 was advertised in early December with a closing date of 11 February 2000 for the receipt of completed applications. In excess of 1,600 applications were received.

An application for funding under the programme has been received from the organisation in question. This application, together with all other applications, is being evaluated against the programme's assessment criteria which are outlined in the guidelines which accompanied the application form. I intend to announce the grant allocations at the earliest possible date following completion of this assessment process.

306 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when a sports club (details supplied) in County Wexford will be approved for national lottery grant under the allocations for 2000; and if it is being sympathetically considered. [14377/00]

307 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has received an application from an organisation (details supplied) in County Sligo for phase two of their four year development plan which will further enhance the standard of the facility and increase the financial viability of the club; when it is proposed to distribute these funds; and if he will make an allocation to the organisation concerned.
