231 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department has received an application for funding from La Leche League of Ireland for the purpose of providing ongoing training for group leaders and other educational and information activities; and, if so, when a response will issue. An application has been received in my Department from La Leche League of Ireland which includes funding for the purpose of providing ongoing training for group leaders, other educational and information activities and a breastfeeding awareness campaign. I have agreed that a sum of £6,000 will be made available for a breastfeeding awareness campaign and La Leche League of Ireland have been informed of this. The remaining aspects are being considered and a decision will be made shortly.
