Vol. 520 No. 1

Written Answers. - Roads Projects.

John Gormley

Question:

262 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if the July 1986 geometric design guidelines from An Foras Forbatha have been superseded for urban road design. [14988/00]

The guidelines referred to, while relating primarily to roads to be provided outside urban areas, incorporate elements appropriate to urban roads. The National Roads Authority is preparing a comprehensive design manual for public roads which will be finalised this year and which will supersede the 1986 design guidelines.
