Vol. 520 No. 1
319 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will provide funding for the main Carrowtigue road from Aughleam to Belmullet; and for the Doohoma road in County Mayo. [14961/00]
My Department is examining how it might assist local authorities in improving strategic roads in the Gaeltacht and has funds allocated for this purpose. Decisions on the roads selected will be announced soon and will be based on ensuring the provision of one access road of high quality in to each Gaeltacht in the country. The Gael tachts of Erris, Achill and Tourmakeady will be included in this programme.
320 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if funding has been allocated from her Department to a road (details supplied) in County Mayo. [15213/00]
My Department sanctioned a grant of £2,500 to Mayo County Council earlier this year to enable them to repair the road referred to by the Deputy. It is a matter for the county council to carry out the necessary works.
321 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if funding was granted to all the Gaeltacht areas for roads, piers and harbours for 2000. [15214/00]
330 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the funding granted to all the Gaeltacht areas for roads, piers and harbours in each of the years 1998 and 1999. [15365/00]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 321 and 330 together.
The following table indicates the amounts sanctioned on a county by county basis in the years 1998 and 1999, and so far this year, under Subhead E. of my Department's Vote in respect of roads, piers and harbours.
